Publicases is administered by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs and Administration. The use of Publicases materials is subject to the terms of the membership agreement and terms of use.
Membership
Only faculty and instructors in public administration and related fields, as well government agencies who use materials in their training programs, are eligible for membership with Publicases. Faculty at NASPAA member schools have access to Publicases without charge for the inaugural year of its launch (August 1, 2021- August 1, 2022). Students should not have unrestricted access to the case parts and teaching materials for cases that are not open access.
By accepting the user agreement, you agree to access and use the materials provided by the Publicases solely for educational, classroom, or research purposes. This agreement extends only to the member, and the member agrees not to allow anyone else access to their username and password and agrees to be liable for any misuse of that username and password that may result from a violation of this agreement.
Distributing and Re-Publishing
Currently registered members of Publicases are authorized to download, store, copy, and distribute Publicases materials for the length of their membership. However, this information may only be distributed to employees or students who are associated with the member. In addition, members may post materials to a password protected website course page. With all Publicases materials, you have the option of printing a permission to copy letter that allows you to copy materials you have downloaded for instructional use. The permission to copy letter is valid for the duration of your organization’s membership.
Copyright is retained by the authors of the cases. If you would like to re-publish a case in a book or other print material, please contact the case author directly to request permission.
Any additional comments and questions relating to feedback on case content, issues with the website, and other non-teaching items may be sent to Publicases@naspaa.org

Publicases reserves the right to review any material that is or becomes available on the site. Publicases reserves the right to refuse to post or to remove any materials that are, in our judgment, unacceptable, undesirable or in violation of this policy. However, Publicases has no obligation to exercise such reservation of rights. Publicases reserves the right, in appropriate circumstances, to terminate the accounts of users who are found to have infringed the intellectual property rights of others. Violations Related to Publicases Public Forums
The following constitute additional violations of this Terms of Use:
Inappropriate Content: All content posted to Publicases public forums (e.g. comment boxes, Publicases Community pages, etc.) must be focused on the topics relevant to public affairs education or online learning and teaching in general, and users’ experiences and discussions as they relate to these topics. Content that is not appropriate includes, but is not limited to, advertising (see below), material copyrighted by someone other than the submitter, or any content that is vulgar or obscene or contains adult themes or images.
Abusive language, name-calling, insults, harassment, and personal attacks will not be tolerated. Further, members are prohibited from making posts or comments that encourage this type of behavior. Publicases reserves the right to singlehandedly take appropriate measures, including deleting content, blocking any member from posting to our site and/or revoking membership for any behavior we determine to be damaging to our community.
Advertising: It is not appropriate to advertise any business, products or services on Publicases public forums, public image gallery or in comments posted to another member’s profiles or blog posts. It is acceptable to mention a business or research funder on a Publicases product page or in blog posts, but not elsewhere on the website. Publicases will delete any content construed as advertising.
The posting of discussion topics or replies that do not relate to public affairs education, educational technology or the use of Web 2.0 in education are considered forms of spamming and will be removed. Whether or not they are important topics in their own right, they potentially detract from the value of Publicases to its members. It is a little harder to draw hard and fast lines here because Publicases is a community, but if you are in doubt as to the appropriateness of posting a topic, please contact Publicases@naspaa.org
