This e-case focuses on the leadership and turnaround of a small nonprofit organization after its merger with another similar organization. Literacy Mid-South works to increase the literacy of those in the Memphis, Tennessee area through group literacy classes, individual tutoring, and resourcing other nonprofits. This e-case outlines the path to stability through the leadership of Kevin Dean, the organization’s executive director. Students will learn about the strategies that Dean implemented to improve programming, increase capacity, and achieve financial security.
